About Us

John Simpson has over 40 years experience in the motor trade. He served his apprenticeship at a Citroen Dealer, attending college and gaining distinctions in City & Guilds and E.M.E.U exams. Starting in the workshop as a “Grease Monkey” and working his way through  the ranks to a workshop foreman as a Peugeot/Talbot dealer and finally as service manager at, yet again, a Citroen dealership.

He has been self employed for the last 5 years specialising in classic cars. He also works for  “Practical Classics” magazine as “Chief Mechanic”, Where he restores cars and writes about and photographs his exploits.
He is able to undertake servicing, repairs and some welding/body work, to classic cars, within a 25 mile radius of Boston, Lincolnshire.
John is also founder and chairman of Boston Classic Car Club with over 200 members a very lively and thriving club. He also owns an interesting variety of Classic cars -:
  • 1966 Sunbeam Alpine V GT (owner for 28 years)
  • 1974 MG Midget (under restoration)
  • 1975 MGB GT (used for commuting) 
  • 1980 Mini 1000 (used for autotests and rallying)
  • 1983 Talbot Matra Murena (awaiting registration in UK)
